Driving the Future of Indonesia’s Offshore Maritime Industry

It was a great honor to be entrusted by the Indonesian National Shipowners’ Association (INSA) as the Moderator of Talk Show Session 3, discussing “Investment Resilience and Modernization of Indonesia’s Offshore Fleet.”

The discussion brought together distinguished leaders from SKK Migas, ENI Indonesia, the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), and MOS Shipyard, who shared valuable perspectives on the strategic challenges and opportunities facing Indonesia’s offshore maritime sector.

Our conversation highlighted that strengthening investment confidence, accelerating fleet modernization, adopting advanced technologies, and fostering close collaboration among regulators, operators, financiers, and shipbuilders are essential to ensuring the long-term resilience of Indonesia’s upstream oil and gas operations.

My sincere appreciation goes to all the distinguished speakers for their insightful contributions, as well as to INSA and the organizing committee for the opportunity to facilitate this meaningful dialogue.

I sincerely hope that the outcomes of this Focus Group Discussion will contribute to stronger policies, sustainable investment, and a more competitive Indonesian shipping industry that continues to support national energy security.

Together, we are not only modernizing offshore fleets—we are strengthening the future of Indonesia’s maritime and energy ecosystem.
